I read your email and believe me it can happen fast. I was on an extended cross country from South Carolina to New York along the coast. The weather was VFR and before I knew it a large front that was suppose to move out didn't and to make a long story short I was in total clouds for 1.5 hours. ATC was great and helped me through it but it was pretty nerve racking. I wish I had me Instrument rating so that I could have shot an ils and landed. I will now get an instrument rating asap and I suggest that to anyone an a long cross country, especiallly near the ocean where the weather can change quick.I hope this does not happen to you but if it does and instrument rating would help. Safe flying. Kevin
