Use your Palm as a moving map with charts!
|
 |
 |
 |
Download Charts for PathAway for the Palm or access them directly with GPSPilot
There are two different ways to get charts into your palm and use them as a moving map.
One way is to use the program called PathAway downloaded from http://www.pathaway.com. PathAway uses
chartchunks from AeroPlanner.com. Make a chartchunk here.
Download the chartchunk in PathAway format. Then use the PathAway Tools to
import the jpr file and create the maps for your specific Palm device. Then save the PRC file and
hotsynch it to your palm.
The other way to get the charts into your palm is to access them directly, while online through GPSPilot.
Now users of Flying Pilot software for the Palm, available at (http://www.gpspilot.com) can
automatically load various aeronautical charts into their palm for use in
conjunction with a GPS. GPSPilot has teamed up with AeroPlanner.com to
offer sectional, WAC, IFR and vector charts for use in Flying Pilot. These
charts are automatically geo-referenced to display in the correct position,
for a given point, or along a route. Before, one would have to go through
the painstaking process of finding the right maps on AeroPlanner.com, then
go through the multiple steps of geo-referencing each image with
Cartographer, then load them into the palm. Now it's all handled for you,
automatically, straight from AeroPlanner.com to your palm. This is just one
of the many services available as part of the Premium Subscription to
AeroPlanner.com.
Requirements:
1) Palm Device with access to the internet (through hotsync or wireless)
2) GPSPilot Flying Pilot software available at http://www.gpspilot.com
3) AeroPlanner.com Premium Subscription available Here
