I've had 2 airplanes on leaseback, and my experience has been that every time the plane makes any money, off to the hanger it goes for maintenance. |

Hi Scott, Where did you find out all you needed to know before you decided to do the leaseback? So what were your costs like for the leaseback ? i.e. Is it cheaper than renting ? (let's say based on 500 hrs / yr) How about vs "flightsharing" ? Any info or websites etc that you can point me to would be great. |

I had a 172 on leaseback until recently, and I would have to agree to the comment about if it's starting to make money then it's time for it to break down. Although in the long run I think breaking even is possible with a 172 or Archer. |

Be very careful in choosing your leaseback operator, FBO, Flight School, etc. Your investment is in their hands and you have to trust their judgement explicitly. Choose one as carefully as you would choose a wife, they can cost you just as much! It doesn't matter how good the contract paperwork looks, its the operator's reputation that you should research. |
